LUMBAR VERTEBRAE LATERAL HORIZONATAL BEAM

                किसी पेशेंट को संभावित lumbar vertebrae fracture हो तो उसे बिना किसी medical supervision के casualty trolley से उठाना नहीं चाहिए | इसी तरह पेशेंट इन परिस्थितियो में lateral decubitus position में भी नहीं लाना चाहिए | इस स्थिति में dorsal decubitus position में horizonatl beam के साथ रेडियोग्राफी करना आवश्यक हो जाता है |

Position of patient and Image Receptor

Trauma trolley को image receptor या vertical bucky के पास लाते है |
Trolley की पोजीशन इस तरह एडजस्ट करते है की पेशेंट का lower costal margin, cassette के सेंटर में तथा पेशेंट का median sagittal plane, cassette के पैरलल रहे |
Trolley को इस तथा ऊपर या निचे करते है की पेशेंट का mid-coronal plane, cassette के मिडलाइन के सम्पाती (coincident ) रहे |
संभव हो तो आर्म्स को सर के ऊपर कर देते है |

Direction and location of x ray beam

Collimated horizontal central beam को 3rd lumbar vertebrae के spinous process से 7.5cm anterior, lower costal margin पर सेंटर करते है |

Image Characteristic

Image में T12 तथा lumber sacral junction include होना चाहिए |

• Technique         -   500ma
• Time                 -    0.2 sec
• Grid                  -    yes
• Grid ratio          -   10 : 1
• FFD                  -    100cm
• Focal spot        -    Large (0.2mm)
